Covid Friendly Antenatal Classes

written by |

We want to make sure that you, as expectant couples, are as comfortable and safe as possible. This Covid Friendly Policy is how we intend on doing so….

Group numbers

Our group numbers will be limited to 8 couples.

Social Distancing

Each couple will be provided with their own chairs which will be spaced out 1m from others.  It is then at your discretion as to how much you mingle!

Prior to attending

Although we are aware that lateral flow tests are in short supply currently, we would ask that where possible, you take a test before coming to the class please.

Upon entrance…

We won’t start the session until 7.05pm and you can start to arrive from 6.50pm. There will be hand sanitizer on site.

Face masks

Face masks are now recommended on entry.  As there will be refreshments available, you will not be required to wear them for the entire session. If you would prefer to wear them throughout, this is equally ok. Your course leader won’t be wearing a face mask so that you can hear what is being said.

Track & Trace

In line with track & trace, if you have a positive covid test in the days following your session, you can let us know and we can inform the class.

We ask that you don’t come to your session if you have…

  • A positive lateral flow or PCR test or if you are currently self isolating
  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

What to do if you have symptoms?

If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:

    • Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible. For the latest NHS advice on this, click here.
    • Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result. Only leave your home to have a test.
  • Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result unless they have been fully vaccinated.  This means that unless fully vaccinated, if one of you has symptoms then as a couple you both must not come to antenatal class.
  • This is in line with the current government guidelines.

Returning to sessions after a positive test

If you have covid (or a positive test), then you will need to complete your self isolation period as recommended by track & trace.  Once this has been completed, you will be welcomed back to antenatal class.

Refunds

If classes are cancelled due to changes in lockdown measures, then you will either get a refund OR the option to do the sessions on Zoom. If the whole course hasn’t yet been started, then you will get a refund over doing the sessions on Zoom.

Should you have to self isolate due to coronavirus, then we can offer you a partial refund of the session(s) that are missed or move you to the same session the following month.

If your course leader needs to cancel the session then we will try and reschedule the session to everyone’s convenience. Otherwise a refund for that session will be issued.

We will also need to cancel classes if there aren’t enough couples on the course. If this happens, you will be given the option to join another course or have a refund.

As hefty as this Covid Friendly policy may seem, we don’t think it will impact how much fun you will have and how much info you will gain from your antenatal sessions with us! If you have any questions about it or if you have any worries, please contact us at hello@thebumptobabychapter.co.uk

We look forward to meeting you soon 🙂
