Covid Friendly Antenatal Classes
We are very excited to get our group antenatal classes back up and running after over 6 months of being online. We want to make sure that you as expectant couples are as comfortable and safe as possible and this is how we intend on doing so….
Being a support group, we do not have to limit our meetings to 6. However, we will be making sure that we only have group numbers where we can safely social distance. This will be 8 couples as a maximum.
We will be ensuring that a safe distance of 2m is kept between couples. Each couple will have their own table which will be 2m apart from the next table.
We usually have our antenatal classes very interactive, but due to social distancing we won’t be doing any group work so that we maintain a 2m distance. What we will definitely still do though is start a what’s app group so that you can still gain a support network for your pregnancy and parenthood.
A drink of your choice will be provided to you by us. If you want extra drinks/cake then you are welcome to order these and pay as you go.
We ask that you be aware of keeping a 2m distance on entrance to the cafe. We won’t start the session until 7.05pm and you can start to arrive from 6.50pm to avoid entering at the same time. There will be hand sanitizer provided then if you could find a table and chairs to sit on for the session. This is to reduce everyone coming in at the same time and congregating around the entrance.
We ask that you be mindful to not leave in a large group and only leave when the table in front have started to make their way out. This is to maintain social distancing at the exit too.
Face masks won’t be compulsory as you will be drinking once at your table. Your course leader also won’t be wearing a face mask so that you can hear what is being said. As we will be maintaining social distancing this is in line with government guidelines. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, that is equally ok too.
Track & Trace
We will be taking your details at booking for track & trace.
We ask that you don’t come to your session if you have…
a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
What to do if you have symptoms?
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:
Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible.
Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.
Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result. This means that if one of you has symptoms then as a couple you both must not come to antenatal class,
If classes are cancelled due to changes in lockdown measures then you will either get a refund OR the option to do the sessions on Zoom. If the whole course hasn’t yet been started, then you will get a refund over doing the sessions on Zoom.
If you have to self isolate due to coronavirus, then we can offer you a partial refund of the session(s) that are missed.
If your course leader needs to cancel the session then we will try and reschedule the session to everyone’s convenience, otherwise a refund for that session will be issued.
We will also need to cancel classes if there isn’t enough couples on the course, if this happens you will be given the option to join another course or have a refund.
As hefty as this Covid Friendly policy may seem, we don’t think it will impact how much fun you will have and how much info you will gain from your antenatal sessions with us! If you have any questions about it or if you have any worries, please contact us at email@example.com
We look forward to meeting you soon 🙂
